About The Position

The Business and Technology Applications Technician will support the Business Systems Analyst in creating custom reports using the WebFOCUS application. This role focuses on generating, verifying, and distributing both routine and ad hoc reports, utilizing SQL and WebFOCUS queries to analyze complex data sets. The technician will also automate processes, document workflows, and visualize data using tools like Tableau.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Computer Programming or Bachelor's degree with computer-related coursework.
• Basic foundation of knowledge in computer programming from a technical school or community college.
• 1 year experience working with WebFOCUS, Ellucian Banner, and other specified applications.
• Knowledge of SQL, HTML, JSON, Java, and JavaScript.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau.
• Familiarity with data migration procedures and scripts.

Responsibilities

• Create custom reports using WebFOCUS based on user-defined needs.
• Write SQL or WebFOCUS queries for designated databases.
• Develop dynamically visual reports, webpages, or quality dashboards.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Write WebFOCUS code to automate processes.
• Document and streamline processes in collaboration with users.
• Maintain current or future code written for business services.
• Validate code based on user-defined expectations.
• Create and maintain documentation of code and custom programming.
• Meet with end users to clarify and document business processes.
• Review and evaluate business processes for improvement.
• Perform daily checks on scheduled jobs for completion and accuracy.
