RCO Law is currently searching for a highly motivated, independent, and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Business and Wealth Preservation Practice Groups. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting routine legal transactional documents, including real estate and estate planning documents, for review by the supervising attorney. This role involves the preparation of probate forms in various regional courts in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, which will also be reviewed by the supervising attorney. The paralegal will perform UCC searches, record deeds and other legal documents, and assist with due diligence, including the review of contracts, title commitments, and surveys, while coordinating and implementing closings. Direct client interface is a key aspect of this position, as the paralegal will be responsible for keeping clients informed and escalating concerns as appropriate. The role also includes drafting routine correspondence and assisting with trust administration and related document preparation for review by the supervising attorney. Familiarity with local, regional, and state-level administrative agency procedural rules is essential, including the e-filing of documents in the appropriate agencies. The candidate should possess a paralegal certification by the Ohio State Bar Association (or equivalent), with an undergraduate degree preferred. A minimum of three years of law firm or similar experience in areas of estate planning, probate, real estate, and business transactions is required, with familiarity with Michigan probate courts strongly preferred. Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat applications are essential for success in this role. The candidate should also demonstrate strong attention to detail, be a self-starter, and have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, along with enthusiasm for working as part of a team.
