About the position

M.S. Walker is seeking a Business Application Analyst (BAA) to serve as the principal liaison between critical business needs and technology solutions. This newly established role will contribute to achieving business goals by analyzing current processes, mapping them to the application landscape, and prioritizing technology investments. The BAA will support various projects and mentor staff across the organization, working primarily from the Norwood, MA office with remote work options available.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and comprehend the wine and spirits supply chain, distribution, and manufacturing industry.
  • Analyze and document business requirements with key business drivers for system and process enhancements.
  • Develop an approach to assess data quality within the legacy ERP financial management system.
  • Capture business risks, dependencies, problem statements, and assumptions during stakeholder engagement.
  • Present requirements using wireframes, system activity diagrams, use cases, and other documentation forms.
  • Develop test plans for new implementations and enhancements to existing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues related to legacy ERP as part of the service desk team.
  • Participate in developing a project management methodology and supporting tools.
  • Establish an approach for prioritizing, monitoring, and delivering project deliverables.
  • Develop a strategic application disposition and roadmap to achieve long-term business objectives.
  • Provide technical training for deployed applications and contribute to training material development.
  • Identify developing threats to business units and the organization.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project methodologies.
  • Understanding of feasibility of requirements in terms of scope, effort, duration, and cost.
  • Knowledge of in-house capabilities and when to designate tasks to third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with core application modules within a financial management system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to reverse engineer application processes and data models.
  • Proven ability to present data quality concerns and process improvements.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills for troubleshooting application issues.
  • Ability to create and administer use case driven application test plans.
  • Strong team player with interpersonal skills.
