About the position

The Business Applications Analyst Senior - Deposit Operations plays a crucial role in supporting our Deposit Products. This position serves as a bridge between business and IT, providing essential system support for Fidelity Applications related to Checking, Savings, and CD products. The analyst will be responsible for documenting processes, procedures, controls, and design templates for various projects and initiatives. This role also involves delivering critical updates to product and deposit servicing capabilities while modernizing banking platforms and business rules engines. The analyst will identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve process execution, implementing solutions that strengthen risk mitigation and prepare the team for future challenges. This position requires a developing skill level to build, implement, and maintain application solutions that meet business needs. The analyst will provide complex analytical, business, and technical support related to strategic business functions, processes, and applications/IT platforms. Additionally, the role involves leading and participating in efforts that support business analysis and decision-making processes, including proposing changes to business processes to better align with business needs. Collaboration is key in this role, as the analyst will work closely with team members, stakeholders, and information services to ensure that dependencies, risks, and opportunities are identified and addressed. The analyst will also be responsible for researching complex business issues, analyzing and documenting business requirements for application/IT platforms, and directing the testing and implementation of new systems or changes to existing systems. Furthermore, the analyst will provide input on establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications, while also coaching team members and providing input on performance and development plans. Ensuring that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Deposit Products by providing system support for Fidelity Applications related to Checking, Savings, and CD products.
  • Document processes, procedures, controls, and design templates for projects and initiatives.
  • Deliver critical updates to product and deposit servicing capabilities and modernize banking platforms and business rules engines.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve process execution.
  • Implement solutions to strengthen risk mitigation and prepare the team for future challenges.
  • Provide analysis and business information related to specific business functions, processes, and applications/IT platforms.
  • Lead and participate in efforts supporting business analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Propose changes to business processes to better align with business needs.
  • Advise and provide analytical support and recommendations to stakeholders regarding business and application/IT platform direction.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of business processes, applications/IT platforms, and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and information services to identify and address dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Research complex business issues requiring advanced knowledge of business principles and theories.
  • Analyze and document business requirements for application/IT platforms and data systems.
  • Direct the testing and implementation of new systems or changes to current systems as required.
  • Lead and participate in the design and administration of standards and policies regarding application/IT platform documentation.
  • Provide input on establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Provide work direction and coaching to team members and input on performance and development plans.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • 6 years of work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application/IT platform design, and/or IT documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of application/IT platform administration and the software development life cycle, including testing execution.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation related to workflow and business requirements, as well as technical functionality of IT applications/IT platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of risk & controls with experience identifying and fixing gaps, documenting controls, and testing those controls.
  • Successful completion of an analyst assessment may be required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ Years strong business acumen in financial services or related industry with experience in a high volume Core Banking transaction processing production team.
  • 2+ Years experience working with Fidelity (FIS) Systematics Applications - Advance Loan Systems (ALS), IMPACS (IM), Relationship Manager (RM), Savings Time (ST), General Architecture (GN), or Certification Tracking (HX).
  • Strategic, analytical, and data-driven mentality with capacity to develop data analysis skills using queries in SQL or other business intelligence and analysis software applications.
  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations including UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation CC, Regulation E (EFTA), TILA/REG Z, Regulation B (ECOA).
  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
