About the position

The Business Architect will be a key member of the Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) Enterprise Architecture team, responsible for guiding the organization through transformation and optimization initiatives. This role focuses on developing business strategies and architectures that support revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, ultimately contributing to the advancement of payment technologies and services for financial institutions across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate business strategy development, including financial analysis and opportunity identification.
• Engage key business stakeholders to identify business and technology innovation opportunities.
• Construct deliverables that demonstrate how to move the business toward its strategic goals.
• Use actionable deliverables to help leaders make informed investment decisions.
• Assess near-term and long-term needs to establish investment priorities.
• Utilize business architecture deliverables to aid in investment decisions.
• Ensure business and operating models fit together and show interdependencies.
• Drive adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for business capabilities.
• Facilitate development of crosslines of business solutions.
• Help develop a governance plan for business architecture input into other EA viewpoints.
• Participate in the development of guiding principles and standards through the governance process.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure continuous delivery of business value.
• Develop ecosystem and business capability models to guide product teams.
• Construct business capabilities models and other critical business architecture deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or related discipline; M.B.A. preferred.
• Five or more years of business experience in strategy formulation and business architecture, preferably in the Financial Industry.
• Three or more years of solution architecture experience covering both business and technology architecture solutions.
• Ability to assess the value and risk of technologies against new business designs.
• Knowledge in designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, and business processes.
• Knowledge of business process management and integration methods.
• Proven experience with formal architectural modeling, preferably with MEGA HOPEX or similar tools.
• Familiarity with architecture industry frameworks such as TOGAF, SAFe, and ArchiMate.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and persuade business and technology leaders.
