About the position

Primerica is looking for a Business Architect to lead and work with a big picture view and comprehensive understanding of the organization's value streams across lines of business. The Business Architect will focus on building foundational frameworks of business architecture knowledge, including capabilities and value streams, as well as end-to-end business and IT processes. This role involves assessing and resolving technical debt, refining roadmaps for enterprise efficiency, sunsetting legacy technology, and integrating siloed systems into an enterprise platform. The Business Architect will also mentor other Business Analysts, requiring expert-level knowledge of business methods, processes, requirements, and standards. Effective communication with Business Leaders, Enterprise Architects, and multiple stakeholders, including Program Managers, Development Leaders, and Legal & Compliance, is essential. This position is hybrid, requiring the Business Architect to work onsite in the Duluth, Georgia office three days a week and remotely for two days. The role is critical in ensuring that projects align with business capabilities and value realization, providing expertise on how business capabilities interact with technical capabilities to achieve program goals. The Business Architect will define, deliver, and manage requisite Business Architecture models, create various diagrams to map current state integrations, and perform assessments to identify gaps in people, processes, technology, and information. Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture is key to translating business strategies into practical solutions that help achieve overall business goals. The Business Architect will engage with business leaders across multiple functions to drive value realization and maintain alignment within and among business units.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document the value stream and business capabilities, ensuring projects align to enable these capabilities and business value realization.
  • Provide expertise and advice on how business capabilities interact with technical capabilities to achieve program goals.
  • Explain complex business and technology issues to non-experts, bridging the gap between business and technology expertise.
  • Define, deliver, and manage requisite Business Architecture models covering Capabilities, Goals, Strategies, Value Streams, Processes, etc.
  • Create process, data, logical, physical, and conceptual diagrams to map current state integrations of applications.
  • Perform current state assessments to identify gaps in people, processes, technology, and information, and resolve identified flow gaps.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to translate business strategies into practical solutions and advise on how proposed solutions will help achieve overall business goals.
  • Engage, collaborate, and partner with business leaders across multiple business functions to understand strategic goals and objectives, drive value realization, and maintain alignment within and among business units.
  • Work with application-specific SMEs to understand and document upstream and downstream architectural flows and refine the overall design approach.
  • Drive the development of technical and functional requirements documentation, including BRDs, process flows, DACIs, wireframes, and other assets used to collect, document, and communicate business needs.
  • Work closely with the Design team to ensure final UI adheres to documented business, legal, and compliance requirements.
  • Represent the team in all enterprise project meetings and own/drive the enhancement roadmap with IT teams.
  • Work with user groups and departments, including Legal and Compliance, to obtain input and approval on all materials as appropriate.
  • Manage and lead complex efforts without authority, communicating effectively at all levels of the organization and tailoring communications appropriately.
  • Partner and work well with teams comprised of architects, analysts, and designers to align on strategic solutions.
  • Assist in and take ownership of maturing the practice.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with and understanding Enterprise Architecture (conceptual, logical, physical).
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting business strategy in terms of business processes and capabilities.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Senior Tech Manager position for Advisory, Cloud Strategy, or Transformation initiatives (business, process, systems, complex cross-functional projects, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience in business process management.
