About the position

The Business Banking Portfolio Management Officer at Zions Bancorporation is responsible for managing the credit workflow, including analyzing and decisioning credits for underwriting, renewing portfolio credits, and ongoing credit management. This role emphasizes delivering an optimal customer experience through proactive communication and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations. The position is eligible for remote work, with a preference for candidates residing within the company's operational footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and decision credits for underwriting.
  • Renew portfolio credits and manage ongoing credit activities.
  • Compile data and incorporate financial analysis, including cash flow and collateral value.
  • Monitor exceptions and track financial statements.
  • Prepare summaries and recommendations based on credit analysis outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Identify risks and mitigating factors in credit analysis.
  • Deliver timely and proactive communication to clients.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business banking credit, spread analysis, portfolio management, or related fields.
  • Basic knowledge of business banking and commercial real estate lending transactions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Good understanding of lending policies and general banking laws.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in related software applications, including spreadsheets and word processing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Small Business or Commercial Underwriting.
  • Knowledge of credit scoring and lending practices.
