About the position

The Business Coordinator (BC) at FedEx Ground is responsible for supporting daily operations at the Ground facility. This role involves coordinating administrative tasks, facilitating communication among team members, and ensuring operational goals are met. The BC will manage employee schedules, monitor compliance with company policies, and work closely with management to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Dispatch Resource Optimization (DRO) software to assign routes and optimize delivery schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of dispatch schedules for drivers.
  • Drive delivery trucks when needed to assist with package deliveries.
  • Assist in daily operations including package handling and on-time dispatch of trucks.
  • Create and manage work schedules, track attendance, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Handle paperwork, data entry, and report generation for operational records.
  • Act as a liaison between management and hourly employees for effective communication.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Track key performance metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Address operational delays and find efficient solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and complaints to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or operations coordination.
  • Experience with Dispatch Resource Optimization (DRO) software or similar tools is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in driving delivery vehicles or willingness to be trained and certified to drive FedEx delivery trucks is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
