About the position

The Business Data Analyst role at Caterpillar Inc. focuses on supporting the Aftermarket Insights Product team within Cat Digital. This position is responsible for analyzing business questions and data to enhance the Caterpillar service parts business, providing insights into end-user part sales, and measuring service growth. The analyst will work closely with enterprise, industry, and dealer partners to solve business problems using data analytics and SQL, while also documenting requirements and providing customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy 2 to 3 platforms and/or capabilities with strong technical knowledge of digital product capabilities.
  • Support team members in driving and deploying digital execution within aftermarket enterprise tools and strategies.
  • Manage and organize information, dashboards, metrics, and reports for team use.
  • Support digital projects that identify linkages across business units and dealers.
  • Facilitate collaboration, training, and communication among team members and partners.
  • Reinforce digital awareness through communication programs in global regions.
  • Coordinate materials and efforts to execute digital strategy and assess global impact.
  • Complete complex data analysis related to user support and product segmentation.
  • Assist in coordinating efforts to solve issues requiring careful analysis.
  • Track and monitor progress via metrics reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, Communications, Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in eBusiness, Digital Products, Digital Marketing, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of software product training and ability to deliver training.
  • Knowledge of relationship management techniques and ability to maintain working relationships.
  • Knowledge of effective measurement techniques for work improvement.
  • Knowledge of data tools and ability to assess analytical models using statistical principles.
  • Strong attention to detail to spot inaccuracies in coding or data.
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Dealer systems and processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and prototyping visualizations for large data sets in Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Practical experience delivering production deployed solutions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with data structures principles and strong knowledge of SQL, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake.
