About the position

The Business & Data Analyst position at Shoreline Community College focuses on leading the Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) pillar within the PeopleSoft/ctcLink system. The role involves providing technical and functional support, analyzing system requirements, and improving operational practices to enhance efficiency in budget, finance, and accounting functions. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, conduct training, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while serving as a primary resource for end-user support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PeopleSoft/ctcLink financial system analysis, support, improvement, and maintenance.
  • Organize and coordinate projects to support functionality and operation of the college's financial system.
  • Work closely with local stakeholders and SBCTC partners as a functional and technical lead.
  • Provide ctcLink system and functional configurations within various financial modules.
  • Coordinate and participate in ctcLink maintenance and improvement work groups.
  • Research existing processes, recommend adjustments, and implement new processes.
  • Provide system and technical production support and analysis, write queries and reports.
  • Serve as a primary resource for end-user support and training.
  • Design and conduct training sessions and maintain training materials.
  • Create ad hoc queries and reports using PeopleSoft/ctcLink and other tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency by monitoring and reconciling system data.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address system functional shortfalls and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to align system functionality with changing policies.
  • Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive financial information.
  • Conduct regular reviews and contribute to risk assessment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Statistics, Computer Science or closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a technical and/or functional role providing business analysis and/or systems support.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a college or university in relevant fields such as human resources or finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and virtual meeting software.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software like PeopleSoft or Workday.
  • Knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel methods including VBA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tableau and other business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as FERPA and GLBA.
  • Project management experience.
