About the position

The Business/Data Analyst position is a full-time role based in San Antonio, Chicago, or NYC, requiring onsite presence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data within the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance sector. This position demands a strong understanding of data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, and experience with Snowflake technologies, including Snowpipe and Snowpark. The analyst will be responsible for developing reports and models that provide insights into various aspects of the insurance business, including underwriting, claims, finance, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial and specialty insurance industry, with a focus on data or business analysis. They should possess a solid understanding of insurance KPIs and have experience in their implementation. The role requires proficiency in SQL and Python, as well as knowledge of data warehousing and business analysis tools. The analyst will need to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate data and communicate complex requirements clearly. In this fast-paced environment, the Business/Data Analyst will juggle multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances. They will work collaboratively across functional teams, ensuring that data-driven insights are effectively communicated and utilized to support business objectives. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret data within the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance sector.
  • Develop reports and models using Power BI and Snowflake technologies.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to communicate data-driven insights.
  • Implement insurance KPIs and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Utilize SQL and Python for data analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct data profiling and ensure data quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in primary commercial and specialty insurance (P&C experience) with a focus on data or business analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power BI and report modeling or equivalent skills in similar data visualization tools.
  • Working experience in Snowflake and its associated technologies such as Snowpipe and Snowpark.
  • Experience with Guidewire and understanding of data profiling techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Python.
  • Specific domain expertise in insurance areas such as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, or Operations.
  • Understanding of insurance KPIs and experience in their implementation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, business analysis tools, and data management techniques.
