About the position

The Business Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of Enterprise Data Management tools within a fast-paced organization. This position involves collaborating with project teams and business stakeholders to understand business processes, document use cases, validate success criteria through testing, and assist end users with various data management tools. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a strong passion for data governance and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project team members and business stakeholders to understand business processes and identify pain points.
• Conduct thorough root cause analysis to uncover system gaps and deficiencies, proposing effective solutions.
• Develop process flows, context diagrams, and data flow diagrams to document current processes and propose modifications.
• Document requirements and user stories focused on improving business and technical processes.
• Decompose requirements into Epics and Features, creating clear and actionable user stories for technical teams.
• Map stories to technical design specifications using progressive elaboration.
• Support the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog and documenting dependencies.
• Create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups to visualize proposed solutions.
• Propose cost-effective solutions and test their feasibility for business and technical compatibility.
• Define test objectives, create test plans and cases, execute tests, and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Keep Project Managers and Scrum Masters informed of the progress of testing activities.

Requirements

• Advanced understanding of enterprise data management concepts and tools.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering business and system analysis artifacts.
• 5+ years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodology.
• Proven experience in organizing and maintaining Product and Sprint backlogs.
• Proficiency in translating client and product strategy requirements into application requirements and user stories.
• Expertise in defining acceptance criteria and managing the acceptance process with development teams.
• Experience with large, multi-module enterprise systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Experience using Azure DevOps or Jira for agile software development and work item tracking.
