About the position

The Business Data Analyst at Carter Machinery is responsible for analyzing business problems and issues using data from various sources to provide insights for decision-making. This role involves identifying trends and patterns in datasets, creating specifications for reports, and participating in cross-functional teams to address business challenges. The analyst will also prototype solutions for displaying information based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
• Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
• Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address business issues.
• Prototype solutions for displaying information based on business needs.
• Manage timely flow and meet requested deadlines of results to users.
• Train and educate others on analytical methods and tools.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of practical experience delivering production deployed solutions.
• Previous project management portfolio experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, business, mathematics, economics, statistics, or engineering preferred.
• Thorough understanding of analytical methods and business acumen to guide cross-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of one or more programming languages.
• Technical expert level in Tableau Desktop, Server, and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Management Studio, R, SQL, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake, Power Apps & Flow.
• Self-starter with good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
