About the position

The Business Data Analyst role at Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) involves supporting business processes related to data management, focusing on data quality initiatives and large-scale data cleanup efforts. The analyst will collaborate with both business and technical teams to create essential business deliverables and drive critical data workshops, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of client data across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for business processes including Enterprise, Account, and Person data management.
  • Drive data quality initiatives to improve the accuracy of client data.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to create deliverables such as Data flow diagrams and User Stories.
  • Understand relevant business areas and communicate tradeoffs to recommend solutions.
  • Independently drive data workshops with stakeholders to develop requirements.
  • Review data records periodically to ensure data quality and curate insights.
  • Ensure quality through adherence to processes and maintain documentation.
  • Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted and define test cases.
  • Support other business analysts and project managers in driving business initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst, with prior experience in Data Warehouse.
  • Expert level communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to break down complex business problems into understandable components.
  • Proficient in tools such as MS Excel, MS Word, Google Suite, MS Visio, Lucid Chart, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Advanced SQL skills required.
  • Data governance experience is a strong consideration.
  • Knowledge and experience with Scrum/Agile methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master Data Management experience.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization systems like Tableau or Power BI.
