About the position

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Business Data Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in the technical and business operations of our company, with a focus on applications and platforms. This position serves as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring the successful development and implementation of applications. The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying and documenting functional and data requirements based on business processes to ensure that final deliverables align with business operations. This involves translating business needs into requirements, managing project team activities, resources, and deliverables to meet business objectives. The analyst will participate in investigations, interviews, and requirement gathering sessions to understand stakeholder needs. They will review project documents such as High-Level Requirements Document (HLRD), High-Level System Design Documents (HLSD), and application code for quality, completeness, and adherence to documentation standards. Additionally, the analyst will provide application design and development costing estimates used for determining business initiative feasibility and priorities. Recognizing discrepancies between business needs and deliverables is crucial, and the analyst will communicate these discrepancies to stakeholders to ensure understanding and acceptance or to identify a need for change in project direction. The role also involves managing the process of gathering required skills such as Application Coding, Business Logic, Database, Database Object, EO/IR systems, AB Testing, Business Intelligence (BI), Business Requirement Document, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, Design requirements, and Data Mapping. Leveraging advanced SQL skills for querying databases, data profiling, data mapping, and data modeling is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact with business stakeholders and create specification documents that both business and technology teams can understand. Experience in the Banking or Finance industry for back-office tool transformation is also beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document functional and data requirements based on business processes to ensure final deliverables align with business operations.

  • Proficiency in Data Mapping and its application in data warehouse systems
