About the position

As a Senior Business Data Architect at Pinnacle Group, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data architecture and strategy for our organization. This position requires a strong proficiency in various databases and data visualization tools, including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Tableau, Business Objects, and ThoughtSpot. You will be responsible for querying data and creating data sources that facilitate comprehensive analysis and present actionable insights to our customers. Your expertise in a data-driven approach will be essential in implementing techniques for data reconciliation in systems characterized by high-frequency loads and business-critical environments. Your experience in the legal domain will be invaluable, as you will need to understand the business and practice of law, including relevant terminology and operations. You will collaborate closely with business partners in both the legal and engineering departments to gather business requirements, design systems, derive data insights, conduct user testing, and support product launches. Your ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including lawyers and paralegals, will be crucial for success in this role. In addition to your technical skills, you will need strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot technical issues related to reporting and data visualization products. You should be well-versed in data visualization principles and best practices, capable of translating complex data into compelling visual narratives. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will be interpreting technical language for end users and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals. You will thrive in a fast-paced agile development environment, demonstrating a strong sense of execution and accountability for the overall success of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture strategies that align with business goals.
  • Query data and create data sources for analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with legal and engineering teams to gather business requirements and design systems.
  • Conduct data profiling and define measures and KPIs for performance tracking.
  • Implement data reconciliation techniques in high-frequency load environments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Translate complex data into visual stories that are easy to understand for end users.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical considerations regarding data privacy and security.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Business Objects.
  • Experience in the legal domain with an understanding of law terminology and operations.
  • Strong data analysis skills with experience in source systems and data profiling.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including legal professionals.
  • Understanding of data security and access control best practices.
  • Experience in large-scale data migration projects and dimensional modeling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using AI/ML for data reconciliation and insights.
  • Familiarity with TeamConnect or other legal applications.
  • Experience in adopting Data Management Office (DMO) principles.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and ETL processes.
  • Experience with project collaboration tools like Jira, Quip, and Miro.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or R.
