About the position

The Business Data Systems Manager at Trego Dugan Aviation is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing various teams and projects aimed at analyzing and improving existing business systems while also developing new ones. This position requires a strategic approach to resource allocation, ensuring that analysis resources are effectively utilized to meet project deliverables on time and within budget. The manager will collaborate with multiple departments to identify and implement new systems that support business functions economically, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. In this role, the manager will collect and analyze large sets of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform decision-making. They will develop comprehensive reports and dashboards to monitor key safety and performance metrics, providing valuable insights to stakeholders across the organization. The position also involves developing redundancy and succession protocols for systems, data, and workflows to ensure operational stability and continuity. The Business Data Systems Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts, as well as developing and implementing data collection systems and strategies to optimize efficiency and data quality. They will also identify and recommend new data collection sources and analysis tools, supporting ad hoc data analysis requests as needed. This role is dynamic and may involve other duties and responsibilities as assigned, reflecting the evolving needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Allocates analysis resources and monitors deliverables to ensure needs are met successfully and on time.
  • Manages department/project milestones and goals, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
  • Collects and analyzes large sets of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Develops reports and dashboards to monitor key safety and performance metrics and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments and those with different technological skill sets.
  • Develops redundancy and succession protocols for systems, data, workflow, and information/operational stability.
  • Maintains and improves monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts.
  • Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies to optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Identifies and recommends new data collection sources and data analysis tools.
  • Supports ad hoc data analysis requests as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing business system budgets and project outcomes.
  • Ability to coach others in best practices, performance analytics, data recovery, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (Power BI, Google Analytics).
  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design and construction.
  • Knowledge or experience with data science languages such as MQL, R or Java is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related field.

  • Knowledge or experience with data science languages such as MQL, R or Java is a plus.
