About the position

CTL Forest Management is seeking a Business Development and Operations Manager to optimize operational efficiency and drive business growth. This hybrid role involves overseeing daily operations while engaging in business development initiatives, including site visits, proposal creation, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess a balanced skill set in operational management and business development, focusing on improving internal processes and strategically pursuing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across forestry projects, ensuring timely execution within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors for smooth operations and resource allocation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency, including technology adoption and resource management.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage operational budgets and control costs while maintaining profitability and efficient resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor field teams, project managers, and administrative staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal forestry regulations, as well as internal safety and quality standards.
  • Attend site visits to assess project opportunities and provide technical insight to clients.
  • Create comprehensive technical proposals outlining project deliverables, scope, timelines, and budget estimates.
  • Assist with market research and identification of new business opportunities and trends in the forestry sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to support business development goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop business development strategies that align with operational capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Forestry Management, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in both business operations and business development, ideally within the forestry or environmental services sectors.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and leading business development initiatives.
  • Expertise in attending site visits and creating technical proposals for complex forestry projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
