About the position

The Business Development Director for C4ISR at BAE Systems is responsible for leading business development efforts in the Intelligence Community and DoD Space Ground systems market. This hybrid role involves identifying, maturing, and winning new business opportunities while developing and maintaining customer relationships. The position requires a strategic mindset, independence, and the ability to navigate classified environments to drive new defense and intelligence business as a prime or sub-contractor.

Responsibilities

• Participate in business planning activities, including pipeline reviews and operating plan development.
• Oversee the proposal phase, managing activities to transform qualified opportunities into wins.
• Develop new market initiatives and conduct competitive assessments.
• Maintain and execute capture strategies with detailed call plans.
• Lead market survey responses.

Requirements

• Strong customer and industry contacts within the IC & DoD Space Communities.
• Working knowledge of US Government contracting, contract types, and procurement processes.
• Demonstrated skills in business development including opportunity qualification and capture strategy.
• Strong reasoning and communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of related experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of related experience.
• Experience marketing capabilities to U.S. Government Agencies responsible for Space capability procurement.
• Previous experience within U.S. Government Space System Acquisition or Space Operations organizations.
• Understanding of existing DoD and IC space ground architectures and systems.
