About the position

The Business Development Director for the Endoscopy segment at Medtronic will lead strategic initiatives to drive inorganic growth through mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other collaborative efforts. This role is pivotal in shaping the investment strategy for the operating unit over the next five to ten years, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and aligning transactions with strategic and financial goals. The Director will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to elevate best practices and ensure operational excellence in business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute inorganic growth strategies to expand and enhance the Endoscopy Operating Unit's position.
  • Oversee all aspects of transaction processes including deal sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, and integration planning.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analyses to identify emerging trends, potential partners, and growth opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including industry leaders and potential acquisition targets.
  • Work closely with various internal teams to ensure cohesive strategy implementation and operational alignment.
  • Adapt strategies and operations to evolving business needs and market conditions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing complex programs involving multiple stakeholders.
  • 7+ years of managerial experience in business development, strategy, marketing, finance, or consulting.
  • Proven expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic valuations.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to operate independently in complex environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance, or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements and the clinical trial process.
  • Extensive experience in the medical device or healthcare industry with a track record in M&A and partnership development.
  • Proficiency in building advanced financial models and strategic presentations.
