About the position

The Business Development Executive at Wolf Consulting is a key role focused on driving sales and building relationships with small and mid-size businesses in the Pittsburgh region. This position involves engaging with business owners and executives to understand their technology needs, presenting tailored solutions, and managing the sales process from initial contact to closing. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, and possess a strong background in business-to-business sales, particularly in technology services.

Responsibilities

  • Attend First-Time-Appointments (FTAs) with business owners and leaders to assess their computing needs and introduce services.
  • Develop and manage relationships with referral sources through professional networking activities.
  • Log and update all prospecting activity in the CRM and maintain up-to-date prospect information.
  • Guide prospects through the sales process, establishing a consultative relationship.
  • Perform sales duties including communication with prospects via phone and email, and scheduling meetings.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to gather details about prospects' networks.
  • Drive sales conversations from start to finish, tailoring presentations to fit prospects' needs.
  • Prepare and present proposals, ensuring agreements are signed and assisting in client onboarding.
  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries and assist with marketing and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to the development of the Annual Company Sales and Marketing Plans.
  • Assist in the evolution of Business Development SOPs and Best Practices.
  • Conduct research for service improvements and new offerings.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to travel to client sites and events.

Requirements

  • A four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent strong work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in outside sales, new business development, and sales management in a service-based business.
  • Experience in Managed Services Provider (MSP) is helpful.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking and infrastructure technologies for small and mid-size businesses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required; experience with PowerPoint and Publisher is helpful.
  • Sandler Selling System training and certification is preferred.
