About the position

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager specializing in Industrial Refrigeration to join our team. In this role, you will drive the growth and expansion of our industrial refrigeration services, focusing on preventive maintenance programs, service repairs, and projects. Your goal will be to build strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and enhance our market presence. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for increasing the number of preventive maintenance programs (PMs) and providing customers with essential equipment and system services to minimize business disruptions. You will respond to customer calls and solicit routine service and repair projects, including compressor rebuilds, equipment/system repair services, vibration and oil analysis services, and control system upgrades. Utilizing Coins CRM software, you will enable company-wide visibility of sales performance and develop a customer visit schedule to meet with existing customers regularly, coordinating with the service schedule to be on-site during PM visits. Additionally, you will assist in developing a list of target service accounts to attract new customers and promote the selling of parts to customers with their own repair capabilities. You will also assist the service coordinator and service manager in resolving service customer problems or issues, ensuring a unified mission and direction within the team. This position requires a travel commitment of 50% or more, as you will be visiting clients and managing service accounts across the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on increasing the number of preventive maintenance programs (PMs) to minimize business disruptions.
  • Respond to customer calls and solicit routine service and repair projects, including compressor rebuilds and equipment/system repair services.
  • Utilize Coins CRM software to enable company-wide visibility of sales performance.
  • Develop a customer visit schedule and meet with existing customers regularly, coordinating with the service schedule during PM visits.
  • Assist in developing a list of target service accounts to attract new customers.
  • Promote the selling of parts to customers with their own repair capabilities.
  • Assist the service coordinator and service manager in resolving service customer problems or issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years working as a service technician or service salesperson in the HVAC/R or Industrial Refrigeration industry.
  • Education from an HVAC/R or Industrial refrigeration trade school is a plus.
  • Strong technical and mechanical knowledge of industrial or commercial refrigeration systems, including ammonia, freon, or CO2 systems.
  • Ability to identify client refrigeration issues and convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships with clients.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to complete work while traveling.
  • Thorough knowledge of territory, market, and clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
