As one of the leading logistics companies, Savino Del Bene specializes in providing import, export, customs brokerage services, and third-party warehousing solutions across various vertical markets. We are currently seeking an energetic and well-rounded Business Development Manager to join our growing team in the Charleston, SC area. This role is pivotal in expanding our customer base and enhancing our service offerings in the region. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for forming a customer base by actively scheduling appointments, cold calling, and traveling to meet prospective clients. This includes issuing quotes, preparing bids, and making formal presentations to potential customers. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with clients, generating new business opportunities while soliciting Savino Del Bene's comprehensive range of services, including Ocean and Air Import, Ocean and Air Export, Distribution and Warehousing, LTL Transportation, Cargo Insurance, and Customs Brokerage. Meeting monthly sales targets set by upper management is a critical aspect of this role. The Business Development Manager will maintain constant communication with the Operations and Customer Service departments, as well as overseas offices, to ensure seamless service delivery. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Accounts Receivable department in tracking payments from the customer base. Other job duties may be assigned as necessary, and the candidate must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Form a customer base by scheduling, cold calling, and attending customer appointments within the territory.
  • Issue quotes, prepare bids, and make formal presentations to prospective customers.
  • Develop relationships with customers and generate new business.
  • Solicit Savino Del Bene's services including Ocean and Air Import, Ocean and Air Export, Distribution and Warehousing, LTL Transportation, Cargo Insurance, and Customs Brokerage.
  • Meet monthly sales targets set by Sales Upper Management.
  • Maintain constant communication with Operations/Customer Service departments and overseas offices.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable department with tracking payments from the customer base.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong Sales and Customer Service skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently to meet productivity goals.
  • Good organizational skills for working with multiple departments and following up with clients and prospects.
  • Reliable transportation at the time of hire.
  • 3 to 5 years of field sales experience in Freight Forwarding/Logistics.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of sales achievements.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
