About the position

As a Business Development Manager at Vaco, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue by promoting our services to businesses in need of critical finance and accounting projects. Your primary focus will be on establishing and nurturing relationships with C-suite executives and organizational leaders, positioning Vaco as a trusted consultative partner. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities in areas such as audit, tax, financial reporting, and software implementations, ensuring that our elite consultants are matched with the right projects to meet client needs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated recruiting team to stay informed about available talent and marketable skill sets. You will also keep a pulse on market trends, including expansions, mergers, and business transformation initiatives, to proactively address client needs. Your ability to network and build relationships will be crucial, as you will attend social events and utilize creative outreach methods to connect with potential clients. Responsibilities

  • Promote Vaco's services to area businesses for critical projects in audit, tax, finance, and accounting.
  • Act as a Consultative Advisor, providing skilled consultants to C-suite executives for various projects.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to maintain awareness of available talent and marketable skill sets.
  • Monitor market trends regarding strategic project needs such as expansions, mergers, and systems implementations.
  • Establish and maintain a personal network of C-suite executives and project sponsors through various outreach methods.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in talent advisory combined with audit, tax, and/or public accounting.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or MBA is desired.
  • Demonstrated history of exceeding individual goals and enhancing team performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • High level of honesty and integrity, with a reputation for being trustworthy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in business transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with software implementation processes.
  • Previous roles in client-facing positions within finance or accounting sectors.
