About the position

The Business Development Manager for Global Architects & Designers at Kohler is a pivotal role responsible for achieving annual market share and sales objectives within assigned Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and regions. This position focuses on building and nurturing relationships with strategic architect and interior design partners, particularly in the Chicago and Dallas MSAs. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy that aligns with Kohler's corporate objectives, ensuring the company remains a preferred partner in the architectural and design community. In this role, the Business Development Manager will establish and grow relationships with key global and regional architectural and interior design firms, uncovering project pipelines and partnership opportunities. The manager will introduce new products, assist in product selection, provide budget pricing, and write specification proposals tailored to various project types. A significant aspect of the role involves driving the A&D strategy through local sales teams, providing coaching, resources, and support to enhance partnerships and secure project specifications. The manager will also be responsible for tracking regional project specifications and managing the sales team's use of internal project tracking software. This includes strategically managing sales resources and the project market around the active project pipeline for each assigned region. Coaching and developing a high-performing team of sales associates focused on various commercial opportunities, such as hotels, high-rise residential buildings, and stadiums, is essential. The role requires effective prioritization in line with corporate objectives and expertise in regional and international design trends. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will serve as a liaison between global architect/designer customers and Kohler's Kitchen & Bath North America sales force, effectively communicating the company's value proposition. The position demands a thorough understanding of competitors' products and pricing strategies, as well as the ability to build strategic account relationships by fostering trust with key decision-makers in the design community.
