About the position

As a Business Development Manager at Segula Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing engineering services. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about driving innovation and developing strategic relationships with both new and existing customers. You will be responsible for the sales of manufacturing engineering services, which includes a blend of acquiring new clients and managing ongoing relationships with current customers. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs and crafting compelling sales pitches that highlight the value of our services. In this role, you will be tasked with developing a comprehensive business strategy that not only aims to win new business but also ensures the satisfaction of existing clients, thereby fostering repeat business. You will manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for your accounts, which includes overseeing both revenue and margin. This requires a keen understanding of bid writing, costing, and effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM). You will also be responsible for status reporting and maintaining ongoing communication with clients to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Additionally, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering engineering work packages and services, collaborating closely with US and Group engineering teams. This includes building a recruitment plan to maintain a talent pool for key capabilities, actively recruiting talent, and managing a motivated team of engineers. You will oversee their career development through training, appraisals, and regular meetings, ensuring that Segula Technologies remains a partner of choice for both employees and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sales of manufacturing engineering services to new and existing customers.
  • Develop a business strategy for acquiring new clients and managing existing accounts.
  • Understand customer needs and build effective sales pitches and value propositions.
  • Engage in bid writing and costing for projects.
  • Manage CRM systems and provide status reports on customer relationships.
  • Ensure ongoing management of customer satisfaction to promote repeat business.
  • Build and manage a recruitment plan for key capabilities within the team.
  • Recruit and maintain a motivated team of engineers.
  • Oversee the career development of team members, including training and appraisals.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales techniques.
  • Experience in the engineering industry, particularly in manufacturing, automotive, or railway sectors.
  • Previous professional experience in a multinational organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Well-structured and organized, able to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
