About the position

The Business Development Manager for Meat Production at Performance Foodservice is a pivotal role responsible for driving product sales and enhancing customer relationships within the foodservice industry. This position requires a proactive approach to generating sales by providing customers and potential customers with value-added services, exceptional customer service, and a keen focus on customer profitability. The successful candidate will be adept at solving service problems and navigating various concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. This role demands a thorough understanding of product information, industry trends, and related technology, enabling the manager to make informed decisions and analyze work-related situations effectively. In this role, the Business Development Manager will implement pricing strategies that achieve acceptable profit margins while ensuring accurate data entry and timely report preparation. Meeting financial sales goals is a critical aspect of the position, as is increasing business through account penetration and customer prospecting efforts. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and on time, demonstrating a strong awareness of customer needs and performing job duties to meet those needs effectively. Additionally, the role involves implementing efficient sales processes and procedures to address customer demands and recognizing customer profitability issues through strategic sales plans. The Business Development Manager will also perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Implement pricing strategies with customers to achieve acceptable profit margins.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 4-6 years of Sales/Marketing or related experience within the foodservice industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales/Marketing or related area
  • 6-10 years of Sales/Marketing or related experience within the foodservice industry.
