About the position

The Business Development Manager at CoolSys is responsible for identifying and building relationships with potential customers to drive new business and achieve revenue targets. This role involves managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing, while ensuring compliance with sales processes and customer onboarding. The position requires a strategic approach to market research and customer engagement, contributing to the company's growth in various sectors including retail, commercial, and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and build relationships with potential customers to win new business.
  • Manage the entire sales process from lead generation through closing.
  • Research the market to identify potential leads and revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Work with the VP of Business Development to create a new customer and sales growth plan.
  • Assess and validate customer and regional market needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Comply with sales processes and keep CRM software current.
  • Onboard new customers and transition them to the Account Management team.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred, or solid work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience with a track record of adding new customers.
  • Ability to generate leads and develop sales strategies.
  • Prior success selling service and maintenance agreements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of grocery retail and convenience store industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex statistical data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in HVAC sales strategy.
  • Familiarity with business communication skills.
