About the position

The Business Development Manager at Bilfinger is a pivotal role focused on driving growth opportunities within the Pulp & Paper (P&P) industry. This position is integral to the organization's strategic plans, emphasizing construction, mechanical, and fabric maintenance services. The manager will engage in routine client interactions, conduct market research, and evaluate potential business opportunities to align with the company's long-term goals. The role requires maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients while also identifying and pursuing new client contacts across various levels of decision-making within organizations. In this capacity, the Business Development Manager will perform comprehensive market research and analysis to assess the business potential of relevant service lines. They will support the marketing team in planning client-specific events and ensure that business development strategies align with the annual budget and operational goals. The manager will lead sales functions, including entering sales leads into the company’s booking software, Salesforce, and generating sales reports. Additionally, they will facilitate the creation of presentations and marketing materials that effectively communicate the company's value propositions to target customers. Collaboration is key in this role, as the manager will work closely with other departments and global networking groups to differentiate Bilfinger in the market and develop strategic insights into new markets or technologies. The position also involves assisting management with special projects and preparing management reports, all while adhering to safety protocols and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead the pursuit of business growth opportunities in the Pulp & Paper industry.
  • Perform market research and analysis on relevant service line business potential.
  • Support the marketing lead with client-specific annual event planning.
  • Assist with business development and marketing planning to align with the annual budget.
  • Lead sales force functions related to entering sales leads and producing sales reports in Salesforce.
  • Research and report on industry, competitor, and client data.
  • Facilitate the development of presentations and marketing materials for target customers.
  • Support the proposal and operations team in developing proposals and qualifications for targeted clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments and global networking groups to differentiate Bilfinger.
  • Assist management with ad-hoc requests and special projects.
  • Prepare management reports and comply with all safety rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in fabric maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and construction services.
  • 1-2 years' experience with contracts negotiation, management, and long-term service agreements.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong base of customer relationships in the Southeast region.
  • Ability to travel routinely via airplane and/or vehicle for consecutive days.
  • Experience in developing customer presentations and value-added propositions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of construction and maintenance services in the oil and gas or chemical industry.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and IIR for client outreach and business plans.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing business proposals.
  • Working knowledge of various contract and commercial proposal structures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, and IIR.
