About the position

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. is seeking an Area Business Development Manager to join our team in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. This position is crucial for supporting our on-site guarding business and integrated guarding initiatives. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic sales environment that emphasizes collaboration and innovation in uncovering new business opportunities across the Securitas portfolio. The role requires regular travel within the territory, particularly to key locations such as Hartford, Shelton, Danbury, and Stamford. As an Area Business Development Manager, you will be expected to leverage your existing network while also making new connections to drive business growth. This position is designed for a proactive individual who thrives in a hunter role, capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with diverse internal teams and external partners. You will utilize various business development methodologies and best practices to consistently secure and develop new business opportunities. The role encompasses both tactical fieldwork, which includes building in-person relationships and visiting prospects, as well as strategic administrative tasks performed in the office, such as conducting analyses and utilizing remote contact methods to generate leads. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to navigate both environments effectively, ensuring a balanced approach to business development that maximizes results.

Responsibilities

  • Support on-site guarding business and integrated guarding initiatives in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
  • Regularly travel within the territory to key locations including Hartford, Shelton, Danbury, and Stamford.
  • Uncover new business opportunities across the entire Securitas portfolio of offerings.
  • Leverage and grow an existing network while making new introductions.
  • Apply business development methodologies and best practices to secure and develop new business.
  • Conduct both tactical field work and strategic administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the security or related industry.
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with business development methodologies and best practices.
