The Business Development Manager will be responsible for executing the territory sales and distribution strategy for a rapidly growing Accident & Health (A&H) business within Everest Insurance. This role will focus on achieving new business goals for Group Personal and Travel Accident insurance products. The selected candidate will work closely with the leadership team to establish strategic action plans aimed at meeting production goals. Additionally, the individual will foster long-term relationships with internal A&H team stakeholders and the Everest Insurance Regional Team to effectively develop and nurture retail distribution partnerships in the targeted product segments. In the Corporate and Business Travel segments, the position will emphasize travel risk management solutions, including both insured and non-insured travel and medical assistance services across small, medium, and large corporations. The role will also involve marketing Multinational Business Travel solutions. In the Group, non-Corporate segments, the focus will be on enhancing distribution capabilities to support the growth of participant accident, K-12 student accident, volunteer, daycare, camp, and amateur and youth sports segments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Group and/or Individual business segments to develop and meet new business production goals selling A&H products.
  • Acquire new distribution partners to drive premium growth, including retail brokers, general agents, MGA/MGU, and affinity relationships.
  • Build connections across A&H and Everest Insurance to source new partnership opportunities.
  • Evaluate new partnership opportunities that create strategic value and align with A&H products.
  • Develop deal structures that drive growth and profitability for Everest and partners.
  • Lead contract negotiation efforts with distribution partners and close deals in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of distribution partners/opportunities.
  • Manage the sales forecasting process for their territory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of business development and sales experience.
  • A&H experience and Insurance industry experience.
  • Ability to work effectively individually with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with clients and building relationships; established contacts/relationships with target clients preferred.
  • Ability to understand partner value propositions and P&L's/financials; skilled at identifying win/win situations to develop strong partnerships.
  • Analytic and financial analysis competencies; results driven/oriented.
  • Ability to travel - 50%, or as otherwise required.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills including presentations, persuasion, timing, and negotiation.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts of a variety of internal functional disciplines to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to manage contracts and negotiations and oversee the smooth day-to-day running.
  • Sales skills including metrics and funnel management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in Business, Sales and/or Marketing.
