The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and motivating a team of Territory Sales Representatives within their assigned geography. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be expected to build strong relationships within all key retailers, as well as Independent Operators and other key stakeholders. Ultimately, the BDM is responsible to deliver on all company sales objectives and key performance indicators within the assigned geography. The BDM will collaborate with the Regional and Division Manager on all activities and communications, including budgeting, planning, and internal communication for all key customers. They will be responsible for selling and executing sales programs for all retailers, including national, regional, and independent customers. The BDM will plan and lead the flawless execution of all promotional and marketing programs to optimize investments. Additionally, they will identify, solicit, and secure new business, delivering increased brand ACV across the region. The role also involves selling, creating, and designing displays to provide higher sales and exposure to Olé brands, as well as implementing shelf schematics and planograms provided by retailers. Ensuring weekly customer visits with key retailers in the assigned area to build sustainable relationships while negotiating display opportunities is also a critical part of the job. The BDM must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects while interacting with Independent Operators and other stakeholders. Additional tasks may be required or assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure weekly customer visits with key retailers to build sustainable relationships and negotiate display opportunities.
  • Perform additional tasks as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree or Equivalent DSD experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Retail Sales and/or Account Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Results-oriented individual comfortable working with a variety of customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish) preferred but not a requirement.
  • Experience interacting with Independent Operators.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
