About the position

The Business Development Manager at Ole Mexican Foods, INC is responsible for driving sales growth within assigned territories by establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and independent operators. The role focuses on achieving sales budgets while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with company procedures. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying new business opportunities and managing existing accounts to maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with independent operators, store managers, and key customer decision makers.
  • Ensure sales budgets are achieved while delivering high-quality customer service to various customer accounts.
  • Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.
  • Establish a plan to organize, re-route, or run a route if needed.
  • Ensure route paperwork is organized.
  • Prepare tailored selling plans with in-depth knowledge of specific retail customers and product portfolios to influence growth opportunities.
  • Review weekly Out-of-Stock (OOS) reports to address deficiencies.
  • Communicate regularly with the Division Sales Manager on sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
  • Ensure weekly customer visits to secure incremental space/displays.
  • Ensure independent operators in assigned areas execute proper product rotation to minimize credits.
  • Ensure IO warehouses and equipment comply with Olé IO expectations.
  • Follow all company procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in DSD/Retail or field-based sales role.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean MVR record.
  • Ability to carry 20 to 40 pounds.
  • Availability to run a route in case of planned or unplanned disruptions.
  • Ability to maintain a clean vehicle and/or truck.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish) preferred but not a requirement.
