About the position

We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join our Groupon Sales team. As our new colleague, you will play a crucial role in driving our sales efforts, building strong customer relationships, and helping local businesses thrive through our platform. Your ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and provide exceptional customer service will be key to your success in this role. In this position, you will spend time on various critical tasks including prospecting and engagement, where you will identify and engage with potential local business partners to promote Groupon's offerings. You will also be responsible for presenting Groupon's value proposition to business owners using effective sales techniques and presentations. Negotiation will be a significant part of your role, as you will negotiate deals and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships. Achieving and exceeding sales targets and quotas will be a primary focus, along with building and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, understanding their needs, and offering tailored Groupon solutions. Additionally, you will consult with local businesses to understand their unique needs and create customized solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure successful campaign execution. This role is designed for a natural salesperson with an outgoing personality and high potential for growth, who is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and a team player. Knowledge of the local business landscape and comfort with CRM software, particularly Salesforce, will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with potential local business partners to promote Groupon's offerings.
  • Present Groupon's value proposition to business owners using effective sales techniques and presentations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales, especially in B2B, business development, or telesales.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Great communication and negotiation skills.
  • A natural salesperson with an outgoing personality and high potential for growth.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and a team player.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Quick on your feet and adaptable.
  • Comfortable using CRM software and other sales tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the local business landscape is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a bonus.
