About the position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing new accounts and enhancing existing relationships within a defined territory. This role involves working closely with prospective clients to assess their current life safety service programs and collaborating with a team to create effective sales strategies for fire alarm systems and services. The position requires orchestration of the sales process, from prospecting to implementation, ensuring client needs are met and value is communicated throughout the sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek out new business opportunities through prospecting and networking.
  • Develop risk-mitigation strategies for clients to budget lifecycle projects.
  • Create and present pricing options for service and maintenance agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong business partnerships to gain client trust and meet objectives.
  • Generate impactful proposals and deliver professional presentations leading to signed contracts.
  • Participate in sales and industry training to convert training into sales results.
  • Coordinate with operations and sales team members to meet customer needs.
  • Track all sales activities in the CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of fire alarm sales experience required.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively to groups at all levels, including executives.
  • Proven ability to manage the entire sales cycle and lead customer engagements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with existing clients for maintaining and facilitating add-on business.
  • Ability to collaborate with various individuals and teams.
  • Strong writing skills for creating compelling sales proposals.
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
  • Motivated for professional, personal, and financial growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
