About the position

The Business Development Manager (BDM) at JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth by increasing gross profit and market share. This position is centered around developing and nurturing ongoing relationships with both new and existing customers. The BDM will utilize market data to formulate effective sales strategies aimed at expanding the customer base across various tiers, including SILVER, GOLD, and PLATINUM accounts. A thorough understanding of the products and services offered by the company is essential, as the BDM will be responsible for communicating these effectively to clients. In this role, the BDM will travel throughout the assigned territory to engage with regular and prospective customers, ensuring that strong business relationships are established and maintained. The responsibilities include providing pricing, credit terms, and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained. Additionally, the BDM will be expected to deliver activity reports and sales plans for their territory, actively participate in sales training, and adhere to the company's Sales Policy. The position may also involve other duties as assigned, reflecting the dynamic nature of the business environment. The BDM is expected to possess excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation and interpersonal abilities. A comprehensive knowledge of the transportation industry, logistics, and freight forwarding is critical, as is familiarity with successful sales techniques. The role requires proficiency in computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to multitask while meeting deadlines. Self-motivation and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize market data and develop sales strategies to increase SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM customer base
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the company
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers

  • 3-5 years successful sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics and or transportation industry
  • Experience with CMS system
