The Business Development Manager position at Factory Motor Parts Company is a full-time role based in Concord, NC, focused on soliciting and developing relationships with specific Distributor, Fleet, and New Car Dealer Channel Accounts. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage customer accounts and incrementally grow sales within the assigned sales channel. In this role, the Business Development Manager will coordinate product offerings and ensure consistent marketing messages are delivered. The position requires the attainment of sales and gross profit percentage budgets and objectives through influence within a matrixed organization, collaborating closely with regional National/Special accounts sales managers. The manager will need to fully understand the opportunities within the Distributor, Fleet, and New Car Dealer channel accounts across all regions and recommend strategic changes to capture these opportunities. Training the sales team on the Factory Motor Parts selling process is essential, as is the development of sales tools and strategies to overcome sales obstacles. The role also involves identifying ways to differentiate Factory Motor Parts' value proposition from competitors and creating tactical sales tools for account sales representatives. Collaboration with the marketing department is crucial for developing sales and marketing programs that support the overall strategy and motivate the sales team. The Business Development Manager will ensure that Customer Service and General Managers are well-informed about the value proposition and tactical product promotions. Additionally, they will be responsible for establishing standards for qualifying customers, negotiating pricing, and developing business plans to acquire new lines and categories. Participation in vendor shows and sales presentations to large groups is also part of the job, along with monitoring business performance and implementing promotions to stimulate growth.
