The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the Commercial/Mechanical business, ensuring that customers' complex projects are managed effectively and sustainably. In this position, the Business Development Manager will partner with the leadership of the Commercial/Mechanical business group and Regional Directors to develop and implement strategic business plans for both current and new products. This role involves conducting thorough research and analysis of business opportunities that align with the organization's long-term strategic goals. The manager will evaluate potential geographic expansion opportunities and assess the success of new market entries, collaborating on execution plans that align with the company's overall strategy. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for planning and preparing business proposals, making recommendations to senior management, and working closely with Ferguson's National Accounts and other customer groups to drive growth. Acting as a liaison between Category Management and the branches/field, the manager will partner with Category Management to evaluate and select vendors, expand current offerings, and continuously assess channel options. This role requires leading all aspects of key project development and being accountable for the successful closure of business deals, as well as the overall development and implementation of strategic business targets. Additionally, the manager will develop new processes to meet project needs and design projects that align with financial and operational criteria. Preparing documents and materials for meetings with potential clients and business partners is essential, ensuring that the information provided is accurate and suitable for external distribution. Maintaining contact with key decision-makers both internally and externally is crucial, and the manager may assist with special analyses in areas such as operational efficiency, market penetration, and profitability.
