About the position

The Business Development Manager at Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is responsible for driving growth within the Cleanroom Contracting Group by developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing ones. This role involves selling services to various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and owners, primarily in the New England and Philadelphia markets. The position requires a strategic approach to business development, including participation in marketing efforts, training staff, and engaging in industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new customers and maintain current customer relationships.
  • Sell services at the A&E and Ownership level, as well as to CMs & GCs.
  • Support the New England and Philadelphia markets, with minor support in Washington DC and Albany.
  • Assist in training and mentoring of staff.
  • Prepare business marketing data and research new products and market opportunities.
  • Participate in the annual business planning process and provide monthly status and activity reports.
  • Engage in the bidding and strategy process for cleanroom opportunities.
  • Attend industry-specific expos, workshops, charity events, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing Department to develop marketing materials and improve the PCG Cleanroom website.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience in business development, preferably in the Life Science and Pharmaceutical Markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business/Marketing, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • Ability to travel up to different branch locations and job sites up to 60% of the year.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and multitask effectively.
  • Superb customer service skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and use lead generation tools.
