About the position

The Business Development Manager at World Travel Protection (WTP) is responsible for driving sales and expanding the client base in the travel risk management sector. This role involves researching potential clients, engaging them through various communication channels, and building relationships to understand their travel risk profiles. The position requires a consultative selling approach and the ability to manage the sales cycle effectively, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up with leads. The role is remote, with a focus on candidates located in the Chicago/Midwest area, and includes some domestic travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Research the market using tools like ZoomInfo and LinkedIn to identify potential clients.
  • Initiate engagement with potential clients through cold-calling, email, LinkedIn, and responding to inbound leads.
  • Build relationships with clients by educating them on their travel risk profile and identifying their needs.
  • Present service capabilities to clients in context of their needs.
  • Progress solid leads through the sales funnel and arrange sales meetings via LinkedIn, emails, and phone calls.
  • Follow through with potential clients that expressed interest in the past.
  • Represent WTP at various industry events such as GSX, GBTA, and RIMS.
  • Drive the expansion of the sales pipeline for new business for Travel Risk Management solutions and consulting services.
  • Manage the sales cycle process to identify, drive, negotiate, and close opportunities.
  • Ensure all reports are completed and submitted on time, including timely and accurate reporting of all major opportunities and issues arising from clients.
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline for new business and extension opportunities for Travel Risk Management and consulting services.
  • Attend relevant client or industry events and/or present when required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in tech sales, consulting, or medical sales.
  • Strong sales experience or business qualifications (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong networking skills, both externally and internally.
  • Ability to collaborate within a diverse organization.
  • Comfortable working autonomously or within a team.
