About the position

The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role as a key individual contributor responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities within the assigned region. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, where the manager will direct, organize, and implement effective sales strategies and technical efforts to drive revenue growth. The successful candidate will be expected to generate new revenue through the development of new accounts while also providing exceptional service to existing clients. In this role, the Business Development Manager will prioritize new business prospecting by utilizing a variety of sources to identify potential customers. A strong understanding of the underlying business segment and the ability to comprehend customer needs within the assigned region is essential. The manager will maintain thorough knowledge of market penetration, market development, and similar strategies to ensure a robust sales pipeline. Regular review of work plans to schedule activities will be necessary to stay organized and efficient. The position also involves obtaining product information, identifying vendors and suppliers, and maintaining customer accounts through frequent contact. The manager will provide feedback on service quality, assist in problem-solving, and submit pricing that aligns with company standards. Coordination of sales efforts, negotiation of pricing agreements and contracts, and establishment of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and credit will be key responsibilities. Additionally, the manager will coordinate events to promote future customers and mentor Sales Representatives, offering advice based on customer activity. Reporting all new and existing accounts to the Supervisor and performing other related duties as required will also be part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer accounts through frequent contact.
  • Provide feedback on service quality and assist in problem solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Two or more years of Business Development experience with proven success in identifying, generating, and maintaining new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated track record of success through bringing in new accounts, creating and maintaining a consistent pipeline of opportunities, generating new revenue, or other similar KPIs.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills to coordinate, communicate, and implement company goals.
  • Sensitive to confidential information.
  • Must work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must be computer proficient.
