About the position

The Business Development Manager at Serendipity Home Healthcare Inc. is a pivotal role focused on driving growth and expanding the company's market presence. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in customer relationship management and strategic planning to identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships with potential clients, contributing significantly to the organization's success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Generate admissions for Home Health by building relationships with physicians, care managers, social workers, and other referral sources in clinics, hospitals, long term care facilities, independent/assisted living facilities and other community resources.
  • Support business development activities and help establish strong relationships with new and existing referral sources.
  • Conduct market analysis; develop sales strategy, goals and plans.
  • Conduct sales calls, and evaluate results and effectiveness of sales activity.
  • Participate in marketing events in the community, while partnering with other healthcare partners, to develop professional relationships in the community, including evenings and weekends.
  • Conduct formal presentations on Home Health to the community, referral sources, and clients/families.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable partnerships.
  • Monitor industry developments and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, with a track record of achieving targets.
  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management principles.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills with the ability to analyze market trends.
  • Strong project management capabilities to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organizational skills.
  • At least 2 years of recent sales experience in the healthcare industry, preferably home health or in-home care.
  • Digital/Online Marketing knowledge.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement a sales and marketing plan.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective customer relationship management.
  • Evidence of achieving admission goals within the market.
  • Excellent planning, organization and presentation skills are critical.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Established healthcare contacts and ability to readily network in the community.
  • Experience with the Home Health eligibility process and a working knowledge of community resources such as Medicaid, VA and other insurance payers and private pays.
  • Must have and maintain an automobile to be used for work.
