About the position

The University of St. Thomas is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Business Development Manager within the Career Development Department. This role is pivotal in supporting the job and internship recruitment strategy of the University. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will work closely with the Associate Director of Alumni and Graduate Career Services to implement employer engagement strategies that enhance the quality and quantity of full-time and internship opportunities available to students and alumni. The BDM will collaborate with another BDM to build and maintain relationships with local and national companies, ensuring that the recruitment efforts align with the strategic direction of the university and the desired industries and functions of its students and alumni. The BDM will be responsible for establishing and executing strategies to grow the Career Development Center's (CDC) network of recruiting contacts. The BDM will solicit feedback from recruiters to ensure satisfaction with student performance and CDC services, using this data to inform departmental improvements. In addition to business development, the BDM will oversee project management, event planning, and data analysis. This includes marketing St. Thomas students and CDC services to targeted companies, consulting on employer-facing web content, and planning large-scale career events that connect students with employers. The BDM will work with the Associate Director to track and report on business development activities, analyze recruitment data, and maintain an annual Employer Engagement dashboard. The CDC is committed to providing equitable access to career education and employer connection opportunities for all students and alumni, and the BDM will play a crucial role in executing this mission.
