The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth and supporting regional market development activities while maintaining and growing an individual territory. This role serves as the face of our company for our products with contractors, builders, and customers, as well as with our sales team. The ideal candidate will be an energetic individual with a positive can-do attitude who can earn the trust and respect of our customers and the contractors that use our products, as well as with our sales and product management teams. This position is crucial for the profitable growth of our Building Accessories product lines, primarily focusing on metal roofing. The role is tasked with reaching and exceeding both top line and profit goals. Essential duties include identifying new metal roofing business opportunities and developing strategies to grow our business with distributors, lumberyards, contractors, and home builders. The Business Development Manager will continually train sales agents and Territory Managers regarding our metal roofing products, work with the sales team to convert business from competitors, and provide new product ideas to the product management team. Regular visits to job sites are necessary to look for new product and business opportunities, and frequent contact with contractors, lumberyards, builders, and distributors is expected to build strong personal relationships at regional, district, and branch levels. The role also involves developing and implementing pull-through programs with contractors and builders for metal roofing products, performing regular market and sales agent evaluations, and participating in the annual budgeting process for metal roofing. The Business Development Manager is responsible for reaching and exceeding both top line and profit goals set for metal roofing products within the region. Analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement is also a key responsibility. Building and maintaining a pipeline of leads and prospects through proactive prospecting and networking is essential, along with preparing and presenting regular reports and presentations to management on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis. The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial, as is clear communication with upper management regarding market trends within the region. Collaboration with supply chain, operations, finance, and other departments is also required.
