About the position

The Business Development Manager at Lang Masonry Contractors is responsible for driving strategic business growth within the commercial construction sector. This role involves identifying and establishing relationships with key decision-makers, managing a robust sales pipeline, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective relationship management. The position requires a proactive approach to market trends and collaboration with internal teams to align sales initiatives with project delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish relationships with decision-makers across target commercial construction sectors.
  • Develop and execute a business development plan to target high-potential markets and accounts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive activities, and emerging market opportunities in commercial masonry and construction.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring regular movement of leads through the business development lifecycle.
  • Track and report key pipeline metrics, including lead generation, client retention, and closing ratios.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, fostering client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and site visits to strengthen client engagement and showcase our capabilities.
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, and estimating teams to align sales initiatives with project delivery capabilities.
  • Provide market feedback to internal teams to guide resource allocation and capability development based on demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or account management within the commercial construction industry, preferably within masonry or a related trade.
  • Strong networking, communication, and client relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with client management software; familiarity with construction management software a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and site visits.
