About the position

The Business Development Manager at United Land Services (ULS) is responsible for managing the entire sales process, building and maintaining relationships with key clients, and ensuring accurate and timely responses to bid requests. This role involves proactive engagement in marketing efforts and collaboration with various teams to enhance the company's reputation and sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the sales process from start to finish.
  • Builds, manages, and maintains a robust sales pipeline by developing long-term relationships with potential key clients.
  • Creates proposals in response to bid requests.
  • Proactively researches engagement opportunities with public meetings, trade shows, and industry publications for potential marketing efforts.
  • Works with the estimation team to ensure new bids are responded to accurately and timely.
  • Collaborates with other sales peers to develop marketing plans for consistency and accuracy in business development media.
  • Keeps accurate and well-organized notes on sales calls and meetings.
  • Completes all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience.
  • 1-2 years of landscape industry knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to enhance ULS's reputation for excellence.
  • Professional business acumen, appearance, demeanor, and social skills.
  • Ability to work across teams to capture information needed for projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent listening skills using patience and empathy.
  • Highly motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, creative, and innovative.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated technology proficiencies including CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel to respective client areas for meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
