About the position

Corrpro Companies is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This remote position requires candidates to reside in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Minnesota. As a subsidiary of Azuria Water Solutions Company, Corrpro specializes in corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring services aimed at protecting and preserving critical infrastructure. Our clientele includes major oil companies, government agencies, municipal utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for executing annual sales plans that align with the revenue and profit objectives of Corrpro Companies. Your primary focus will be on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, particularly within the oil and gas sector and government customers who require corrosion assessment, protection design, installation, and testing services. You will manage the business development efforts, generating and qualifying leads for further development, while also performing key account planning to maintain strong relationships with key accounts. Additionally, you will prepare bids and proposals, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, and execute bid strategies. Your input will be crucial in the estimating process, and you will be expected to generate market intelligence for capture and subsequent analysis. You will also assist in developing marketing communications and making product portfolio decisions, coordinating pilot projects, and spearheading customer service management. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute annual sales plans to support revenue and profit objectives of Corrpro Companies.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with oil and gas and government customers.
  • Manage the business development effort, generating and qualifying leads for subsequent development.
  • Perform key account planning and maintain favorable business relationships with key accounts.
  • Prepare bids and proposals, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, and execute bid strategy.
  • Provide input into the estimating process and generate market intelligence for capture and subsequent analysis.
  • Assist in the development of marketing communications and product portfolio decisions.
  • Coordinate pilot projects and manage customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5 years of industrial materials or services business development experience with Oil and Gas, Department of Defense, or Municipal customers.
  • Experience selling technical products and services with government and oil and gas customers preferred.
  • Knowledge of Corrosion Control / Cathodic Protection preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced in creating estimates and working through negotiations.
  • Strong computer skills using Excel and CRM required.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and a team player.
  • Experience calling on and working with top-level management and government officials.
  • Ability to travel to potential customer sites.
