In this sales-oriented position, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for tracking all activities and opportunities in the company's CRM system, ensuring timely updates and strategic analysis based on historical data. A thorough understanding of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning is essential for success in this role. The incumbent will also be expected to collaborate with company management on special projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency within the organization. The role is not just about closing sales; it also involves providing expertise and support to clients throughout the bidding process, ensuring that specifications are met and that the company's offerings are positioned effectively against competitors. The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in shaping the company's market presence and driving its continued success in the utility construction and pipe manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities and build relationships with owners and potential clients.
  • Proactively pursue and foster relationships with contractors and owners who may benefit from our products.
  • Track all activities and opportunities in the CRM and update them timely.
  • Utilize CRM to identify sales strategies based on historic data.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of markets regarding pricing, opportunities, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with company management on special projects to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience in utility construction, pipe manufacturing/sales, and/or building materials.
  • Experience as a project manager, estimator, or project engineer in comparable projects/markets preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Proficiency using a CRM or related database tool.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the pipe or underground utilities markets.
