About the position

Restoration 1 of Cary, a well-established disaster restoration company with a reputation for excellence as an industry leader, is seeking a full-time Business Development Manager in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This position is crucial for driving the company's growth by developing and maintaining business revenue through various sales strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in service-directed selling and will be responsible for prospecting, cold-calling, and conducting consultative sales presentations both over the phone and in person. The role requires the development and implementation of a comprehensive sales plan to support the company's sales objectives. Success in this position will be measured by the ability to create long-lasting business relationships and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas. The Business Development Manager will spend a significant amount of time on outside sales calls, identifying and initiating contact with target customers, including insurance agents, plumbers, realtors, and commercial property management companies. Active participation in industry-related trade organizations to promote the company's services is also expected. The role involves making weekly presentations to small groups and reinforcing relationships with both new and existing customers. The candidate must demonstrate uncompromising honesty and integrity, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable making cold calls and engaging with customers face-to-face. A results-driven attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Meet/Exceed monthly sales quotas
  • Create weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Analyze and implement business development opportunities and strategies
  • Travel daily; majority of time is spent on outside sales calls
  • Identify and initiate contact with target customers such as insurance agents, plumbers, realtors, and commercial property management companies
  • Actively participate and network in industry-related trade organizations promoting the company's services
  • Make weekly presentations to small groups
  • Reinforce relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop long-lasting business relationships

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Proficiency using computers, MS Office, CRM software, and specific industry software is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success selling to middle and senior level executives in the insurance, plumbing, and real estate industries, along with property managers, and public institutions
  • Results-driven attitude and a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple competing tasks and demands

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling to insurance agents, small service contractors, and property and facility managers/property owners
  • Comfortable making cold calls and dealing with customers face to face
  • Good listening skills, poise, tact, and diplomacy
