About the position

The Business Development Manager for Performance Contracting Group's Cleanroom Contracting Group is responsible for driving growth by developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing ones. This role focuses on selling services to architects, engineers, owners, construction managers, and general contractors, primarily in the New England and Philadelphia markets, with additional support in Washington DC and Albany. The position requires a blend of sales acumen, customer service, and strategic planning to enhance the company's market presence and support its operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new customers and maintain current customer relationships.
  • Sell services at the A&E and Ownership level, as well as to CMs and GCs.
  • Support the New England and Philadelphia markets, with minor support in Washington DC and Albany.
  • Assist in training and mentoring of staff.
  • Help prepare business marketing data and research new products and market opportunities.
  • Participate in the annual business planning process and provide monthly status and activity reports.
  • Participate in the bidding and strategy process for cleanroom opportunities.
  • Attend industry-specific expos, workshops, charity events, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing Department to develop marketing materials for the Cleanroom Contracting Group and improve the PCG Cleanroom Website.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience in business development, preferably in the Life Science and Pharmaceutical Markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business/Marketing, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • Ability to travel up to different branch locations and job sites up to 60% of the year, primarily between Philadelphia and New England.
  • Ability to create instant credibility, generate interest, and articulate PCI's value proposition.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Superb customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and build strong relationships with customers.
  • Familiarity with multiple lead generation tools such as LinkedIn and other online tools.
